While Grand Master Ron was in the Philippines this summer, he was asked to give a hapkido demonstration
to Ms. Ivy Arago, Representative of the 3rd District of Laguna, Philippines, three of her peers, and some constituents.
Grand Master Ron taught techniques and demonstrated on some of his helpers. The demonstration was very well received, and several of the dignitaries expressed interest in starting hapkido training. They are interested in this particular martial art because hapkido offers the most self defense. It seems that kidnapping, particularly of Americans and Europeans for ransom, is a common occurrence in the Philippines.
