THE LEGACY CONTINUES

OMAA Legacy

OMAA´s roots began in the 1970´s when Grandmaster Dr. Cha Sok Park arrived in America. Having graduated from Judo College (now Young In University), winning Mr. Korea bodybuilding championship, serving for nine years as the personal bodyguard for Korea´s president, and studying Hapkido as one of the original students of the founder of Hapkido, Grandmaster Choi, Dr. Park opened his martial arts academy (OSA). As one of the first successful martial arts academies in this area, all of the current long term grandmasters began their careers at OSA. Dr. Park went on to become President of the Virginia Tae Kwon Do Association, President of the Pan American Tae Kwon Do Union and Vice President of the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF). As Vice President of WTF he was head of the technical committee overseeing all of the Tae Kwon Do techniques being taught worldwide.

Grandmaster Ron Boykin is Dr. Park´s most senior active student in both Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do. He holds a 6th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a 7th degree black belt in Hapkido, a 4th degree black belt in Kumdo, was inducted into the martial arts hall of fame in 2004, is a certified personal trainer, and the founder of OMAA under the direct supervision of Dr. Park. He still actively teaches many of the classes and provides instruction for all the black belts and masters.
